5.9 vs 7.3

the 6.4 still only has 4 head bolts and breaks down the same as a 6.0 and still gets the worst mpg's

oh and the fact that ford only used the 6.4 motor for two years really says how much they trust them

Seems pretty amazing that they can do it in stock trim. The 6.4 does get good mpgs.. You have to modify it though. The 5.9 vs. 7.3 wouldn't be much of a comparison if you had to leave them stock now would it? you know as well as I do there is a lot more to the story between ford and international then they just stopped using them. Heck I don't like dodge products at all and I got forced to part ownership. Even being a part owner though I still had to pay full price for them. If I bought into ford at least it would be my decision and I would get discounts on their products.

you should be comparing the 6.4 to the 6.7 cummins not the 5.9, and the stock 6.4 gets like 8-9 mpg, the 6.7 cummins and the 6.6 max do 13-14mpg, you have to delete the dpf to get good milage out of them and then they wont pass emissions and i dont think the 7.3 is much compared to a 6.7 cummins

Ok... Does the 6.7 make 1000hp with the stock turbo, tuning and nos??? What about 300+hp on tuning alone? I will say the cummins is a great motor, the 5.9 and the 6.7 though if this great motor that is touted by the dodge crowd is such a awesome motor why are they not in big rigs? I mean seriously... The big rigs might use a similar design like the inline setup but that is about where it ends.

y doesnt ford use the power joke in their big trucks??? the f650s and bigger have cats and cummins in them, plus you can find a cummins in almost anything-boats, generators, tractors, ford, gm, dodge, water pumps, etc, where do you find strokes? im sure the 6.7 can put down some numbers with the right stuff, oh and kenworth uses the 5.9 24v in some of their big trucks, what are u considering "tuning" anyway?

When you plug a electronic device into the obd2 port. Change the parameters around to be more performance oriented. Also helps to tune the tranny if applicable....
Look I can stir the pot with anything you want to add... I just get irritated when people think that the 12v cummins 5.9 or the powerstroke 7.3 is the greatest motor ever and pretend like it is the second comming of christ.... I'd take a dt466 over both of them.
