Default Whos Gelling? Not Dr.Sholls neither

Since ULSD a lot of guys seem to be gelling in Dmaxs anyways. I've heard of quit a bit more gelling problems in the Equipment industry too. The problem seem real bad in IL & IN maybe because of there Bio blended fuel? So what about ya'll some guys can't even ungell using PS 911.

What ya think?

I don't know why, but I have been reading about more guys in the colder areas that drive DMaxs having problems with the gelling compared to other trucks.
I really think my Cummins was trying to gel a couple fill ups ago. I didn't have any PS in the white bottle.(which I use religiously after moving up here) The truck ran like total crap. I got a bottle of 911 and filled at a different station and all was good after just a few miles.

At the first pump though, I did notice where somebody had dumped fuel and it froze into a pile of yellow/greenish crystals all over the pump. Never seen that before and it was supposed to be winterblend ULSD.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that many stations are now selling bio, but not advertising that fact; and some are over 10% for that matter. Any fuel with bio will be more subject to gelling than ULSD.

I didn't gel once but in the 3 winters I've lived here in WY (MUCH MUCH MUCH more mild climate than North Dakota) I've gelled 4 times. Moving down here pretty much coincided with the LSD-ULSD switch so I'm blaming my more frequent gelling on the fuel (the additive combo I use is the same).

I have had issues w/mine this winter. I attirbuted it to the station that supplied the fuel. Not a high volume location. Of course in typical IA weather, it was 50* when I filled up on Friday, and 10 on Monday. PS 911 brought it back out of that funk.

using Bio diesel in the winter is a bad deal. That is one reason I never fill in Minnesota in the winter. I run straight #2 with Howes and have never had a problum but I don't use any bio in the winter.

Haven't had an issue with mine gelling at any time, but then again I add 16oz of PS and 2 stroke mix when I fill up and once a month I throw a shot of straight Howes in her. Everything around me is or seems to be Bio-Blend
