Default Single Stack Options

If there is anyone that has a stack/stacks, please help me out here. Are there any pro's r cons to different setups and fitments? I found a company that makes a 4" to 6" adapter for thru the bed, with a plate welded around it, and I bolt the plate to the floor of the bed. I like this idea, but wanted some input on this.

If you are a vendor, please let me know my options here a well. I am currently running a 4" downpipe back MBRP exhaust. No Cat, No muffler. Im going to do a 6" non finished mitre cut stack, and want to know the options that I have as far as setting this up.

Thanks ya'll.

Well first of all i would be careful with the raw stack it might rust and that just wont look to good IMO, the setup you described is exactly how my stack is in there except mine is 5" to 6" and mine is homemade...the only thing i would recommend is one of those stack clamp things that somebody sells on here so the stack doesnt wobble like a **** when your going down the road

Not sure why you want a plate welded around it. Punch the hole through the bed, install the stack with a reducer and flex using two clamps and you're good to go. No welding involved.

As for the mounting plate adapter...that is the way to go. This provides you a hard mount, and allows the flex to do it's job under the truck. As for the raw stack, make sure you paint it, do not leave it raw. It will rust in a matter of hours. I am going to assume you plan on painting it your self, or have some sort of coating done to it by someone.

The only problem with the staxx clamp is the price. However, it is a very well built clamp, and looks really good on trucks. Stack wobble can also come from the clamp at the connection between stack, and the stack inlet. I've got a few customers that don't even use the mounting brackets we provide because they were able to get the clamp at the joint tight enough to keep the stacks solid.

The reason for the welded plate, and bolting the plate to the truck bed is this allows the flex pipe to do it's job. I've seen guys hard mount stack set ups, and break things. Flex pipe is designed to be used to connect between points that have little movement. So useing the flex to connect from the inlet pipe, and exhaust under the truck is the perfect spot to keep from damaging anything.
