Two of my co-workers have 6.0L crewcabs about 2006 vintage. In the past two years, one got the whole EGR delete business, and the other popped head gaskets and got studs. Those seem to be two major fixes they all end up needing.

The OBS Ford and 1stgen Dodge have the best engine bay access for the DIYer (no cabs to lift off). My own Powerstroke experience ('95 & '97) was a frustrating one.... they are a complex engine with lots of little things to go wrong. I now have only 1stgen Dodges and life is good.

Not saying that they were bad trucks but the opinion is kinda bias from me I really don't like the motors Ford has used I just know to many people who have had problems with them. If your looking for a Dodge then save up and buy a Dodge if you want a ford buy a ford you will get 10 different opinions from 10 different people
