Let's get to know our competitors and what makes each of their trucks special—and we'll see just what happened to the one that didn't quite make the start.Diesel Power Challenge 2014 marks the 10th running of our signature, no-holds-barred competition. You, our readers, once again voted in nine of the most powerful and well-rounded trucks from the United States and Canada. Competing this year is a trio of compound-turbo'd, Duramax-powered GMs; one 5.9L and two 6.7L Cummins-equipped Rams; and all but one generation of Power Stroke. And returning to defend the crown is Wesley Beech with his winning 2008 Ford F-250. Once again, our competitors convened high in the Rocky Mountains—where the air is thin and the weather can be unpredictable—for a weeklong battle to the finish. This year's group faced the threat of foul weather and experienced mechanical and mental breakdown, and the event ended with one of the closest fields of competitors in DPC history.
