Head-to-head drag racingThe quarter mile drag race was the third and final event of Diesel Power Challenge 2014’s eventful Wednesday at Bandimere Speedway. The eight trucks that started the day made it to this event. Although ominous thunderheads threatened to yet again literally rain on our parade, the weather held out as a complete afternoon of qualifying and head-to-head racing prevailed.

All trucks were able to complete qualifying passes. Lavon Miller put down the lowest ET at 11.304 seconds at 122.46 mph. Shilo Ellingford put down the top speed run of 130.10 mph, which may be a DPC record. Six of eight trucks were in the 11s or 12s, showing that this year’s pack was running strong at the halfway point.
