I'm new to this site and new to diesels. Might be a simple question for some. I bought a 2006 6.6 duramax yesterday. From doing some homework it's the lbz. I want to put some kind of exhaust(for sound and performance)on it but I don't wanna mess anything up. Do I need to do anything else to the motor or can I just have someone run a straight pipe? Thanks for any info. Just wanna do it right.

 

Talked to a shop today and they said if I want a little more sound end save money hollow out the cat and remove muffler. Anyone ever heard a truck with they set up. Curious if it sounds good?

 

i've heard a truck with someting similar and it was pretty cool, but it all depends on what you're going for. loud and awesome, great. loud and obnoxious, your neighbors will hate you
