Hey guys,

I am wondering if anyone knows how the external dimensions compare between the 6.2 GM and the 6.9/7.3 IDI Fords? Any dimensions and weights would be awesome!

I am looking to drop something in the 77 Econoline. I am leaning toward the 6.2, since I already have 2 of them in other rigs, BUT, if the dimensions are a better fit with the 6.9/7.3...I am open to looking that way. I have had a couple of smooth running 6.9's in the past...and have nothing against them.

The van is a camper/partial conversion. Just want to pull the 351W out of it (massive fuel system problems...and NO *****) and swap in something that will be alot better on fuel, with enough power to roll down the road with 3 people and a 4 horse trailer a couple times a year in the summer.
