Diesel prices are shore discouraging. If you look around the net you might find some real disturbing information. One I found is that oil is peaking.That means they can't keep up with demand. The reason they won't build more refineries which would lower prices. The cost would not be recovered. Oil is expected to hit $200 a barrel and reflect a $7.00 per gal at the pump. At that I would not be tooling around in my Sprinter RV diesel van Mercedes Benz (24mpg)

They CANT pass the cost on and thats what's going to cause the shut down.

Most companies are refusing to pay the surcharges and the end users arent having to pay more because of competition. The freight companies are having to absorb the cost so what Logan said is probably going to happen. When diesel hits $4.50/gallon they will shut the trucks down and force the government to take action. We have two freight companies in my family and the HotShot/Oilfield company will keep rolling. They are however talking about parking the OTR trucks if the cost of fuel goes up any higher.

There is a trucker shut down today going on. Albeit a small one but much larger ones are being planned for tomorrow, as well as the 26th-30th of April.
Until the major unions get pissed NOTHING is going to matter. Teamsters and the like can force things to change but like I said until they do a few trucks protesting will mean nada.
