Uh in honesty I would go with Edge, Either and edge EZ or an Comp Box, I just dont hear anything about quadzilla. Or a Smarty Jr... When I get money im going with an Edge Ez, thats all I really need.... Your not gonna hurt the engine, but you sure can ruin injectors... Only failures of a Cummins engine I have seen is Over Revving, and Heat....

 

If it tells u anything ive never revved my 6.0 over 2500 and im a stickler for watchin guages. But if my injectors hve a chance of failin due to a programmer i wont put one on it

 

You can get a 150 HP programmer but, if you dont have injectors to handle the extra fuel then you wont get the potential outta the programmer and can reak havoc on injectors, But like the edge EZ its max setting is 60 Hp, and the comp box is kinda like the smarty you can play with settings and so on... Just dont run on the higher settings all the time.... Plus I just replaced my injectors for 200 bucks for all six, glad im a mechanic... Your injectors are gonna fail one day.. The can last 200K to 500K mine lasted 235, and according to cummins your suppose to replace injectors and 250K intervals...

My buddy 99 has a edge ez and 5 speed, that thing a fun to drive my ford owning neighbors called the cops on us for stirring up dust, guess there just jelous of the sound and power of the cummins..

 

they are sweet with a 12 valve best truck I have ever owned!! but not quite 500 yet so when that ford does the 6.0 salute for one last time a cummins is the way to go

 

When I go to do my Fummins I think Im gonna do it with a 24 Valve/ VP44 Cummins....

 

hopefully my 6.0 doesnt salute at least til it makes it to 300k... 109k to go!

so the edge ez max hp is 60? will that hurt anything to run that? and also will it smoke a ton? i dont want it to black out intersections i hate when people do that to me.. i want the horsepower, i dont mind a little smoke say when shifting 2nd to 4th or something but not over the top and irritating to other drivers.. im respectful, for one i almost rear ended a jackass doing that in front of me..

and also will the 60 hp hurt the tranny?

i want the ability to smoke but not to be a jackass. have you ever wanted to smoke the HELL out of someone tailgating the ***** off of you? well i have and my 6.0 barely puffs. i want that ability, but i dont want to be the guy that says "how do i make my truck smoke so i can be cool and have friends?"

and also i dont want to blow up my truck. i care about reliability anyways as do any other 6.0 convertors..

No the 60 HP wont hurt anything, maybe when you get money you can upgrade to 75 horse injectors, and there easy to do... If I lived near you Id do it for you for 150 bucks. You have the six speed as long as you dont grind em till you find em you be ok. You will get some decent smoke outta it, but you not gonna black out anyting unless you lug it, and please dont I want to ram my truck up every wanna be cummins owner who lugs there truck but then again I think "Job Security" If you want to smoke you can have my old set of injectors one or two are stuck open and it smokes like a freight train, and will proably melt a hole in your piston. But I think the Ed ez a good buy and the edge comp box is the best buy if you want to spend the 500 bucks for it... hey stroker wanna bet hes not gonna sleep tonight, bet hes been seeing and hearin Cummins Trucks in his dreams !! Im teasin, I bout died the day I picked mine up. Big improvement from my DD of a 95 Dodge Dakota with the 3.9L V6 and it was fallin apart faster than I could make the money to fix it...

The last person who tail gated me shouldent have been txtin because she slammed right in to the semi making a left turn on a busy two lane when I dodged it at the last second guess he almost missed his turn.. I laughed and drove away)the air bags looked like it hurt when they deployed...... But her face was PRICELESS!!! sounds mean Im sayin that but she rode my A$$ for a week... She deserved it she walked away with only a broken nose from slammin her face into her phone and the airbag...
