Default roll in bed liner

i put a roll in bedliner this weekend and failed miserably as soon as i went to rinse if out 36 hours later, a bunch of it just washed right off. i was going to sand the areas down that it didn't stick on, i was wondering if you may have and tips or tricls to get it to stick a little better. i was told about some self etching primer that you can get at menards. just wanted some other opinions

My friend did it on his on truck. And it was probably one of the best roll on jobs I ever seen. He took a day for just prep, sanding, cleaning the whole bed then he parked in the garage did one coat, let it dry for 24 hrs and went back and did two more coats I think. And it held up through four wheelers, ramps, and misc. Stuff he threw back there I was quite surprised how well it did. I would save up for line x myself but if its not an option good prepping and a few extra coats wouldn't hurt.

Sent from my dumb phone!
