I am buying an 06 f250 with a blown 6.0. im getting the truck cheap enough that i can break even on parts i know i cant use. but i have an 01 f350 4x4 and i was wandering how much is interchangeable between the 2 trucks. i need a new rear axle for my 01 and they both have a sterling 10.5 but iv heard the 06 has a different bolt pattern. can i use parts from my old axle to make the new one work with the wheels i have? i was also wandering if the 06 windshield would fit my 01.

 

A lot of it is different actually. I'm pretty sure you'd have the sterling 10.25 no? 10.5's were in the newer trucks, but I could be wrong. Either way I'd think you could get it to work with not much effort. 01 and 06 will have the same bolt pattern 8x170. Only the earlier trucks (OBS trucks) had different bolt patterns. 99-12 should be the same.

As for the windshield, that's a good question. I'd think they'd be the same, the cab didn't really change, but don't quote me on that. Some stuff will "fit" but some of it was updated quite a bit in the looks department from the earlier trucks.

 

Should be able to use the rear axle no problem. They started the 10.5 in 99 and they both have 8x170mm bolt pattern

 

You should swap out the dash(they are capable of running the upfitter switches and the driver side glovebox is very convenient), The front end(grill. headlights, and bumper) and the tow mirrors(to get the turn signals)

The front windshield glass is the same.
