I would never buy a 6.0 planning to get good mileage, but the trucks themselves are awesome. Does the 6.0 have issues? Yep. Does every truck have issues? Yep. At least with the 6.0 you can research and know exactly what's going to go wrong and when. I'd buy it, that's a pretty good deal. Knowing what I know now, I would buy one and plan on spending the money up front to bulletproof it though. Studs, EGR delete, new gaskets, heads machined, new oil cooler, etc.

Every other 6.0 owner on the forum says they get 20, apperently me and you are the only ones that dont get 20.

Hey o3 and Mdub I have a question for ya, Would a clogged or dirty EGR make these 6.0L lose HP, and fuel milage? Im not bashing 6.0L but this is what the truck doin, about three years ago the truck seemed to lose power and the milage went from 17MPG to 11MPG maybe 14 at the most? I can put the peddle to the floor and just seems gutless, weve replace injectors, fuel filters, we were using Fram oil filters Im going to do what you advised to use the motor craft fuel filter due to the fact that it may lead to less flow for the injectors correct?? Were do for an oil change anyhow. I just like to get this truck back to where it was when we first got it, and give it's ***** back to it... Im fresh outta diesel school, and currently goin to welding and maching at the moment. As you know most of my knowledge is with the Cummins. Any idea or anything I can learn on would be appreciated.

as for Tjjhml Cant believe they wont give it to ya and its only 3K over and you have 5K for down right. Kinda like when I went and bought my Blue Dodge one credit union wouldent give me the loan because the truck had over 100K, what the hell do I live in the city!!! any how I went with USAA and got the loan all they cared about was there was enough value to the truck besides what I was borrowing the truck KBB at 8500 the least! and I only borrowed 5500, and got it for 6700. Should go to Pheonix, AZ and ask 15K for it man the prices down there or REDICULOUS!!!

Too bad you weren't in Maryland or this one might be a good deal, even with the mikes on it you could get a new or rebuilt engine for it and still be ahead of the game, though they claim it still runs great. Don't be afraid of the 04s and 03s, they had less issues with the EGR clooler and like others have stated, We know what to do to prevent down time. Heres the link for you to look at, they just have one pic.chttp://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2824926118.html

I just got a Rig today They ended up giving me a 3500 for my 94 idi, paid 1800 in sept, put down 1500, Truck was 23,700 so with the down it was 18k, Ended up gettin a 06 King ranch 350 cc 4x4 shortbox, I'll live with it. Copper color, with 120k on it Tight, much better than the 94 idi, got 18mpg according to lie o meter on the way home, Boost i got up to 20 a couple times though tooo. Cant believe the ride compared to the 2000 excursion, Siiiccckkk I told my woman she do what she wants this year She wants another X truck
