Default CB whips mounted on the mirrors

just wandering if any has put there CB whips on the mirrors. i want to do it, after seeing a few with them. but i know there is grounding issues being that the mirrors are plastic. any info would be awesome

Never seen up close, but I would assume you would have to run a ground wire from the mount to the chassis...

I like them bed mounted, but that's just me. Hell I have not turned mine on it about 6 months or more.

I think you would be better off with one right in the middle of the bed.

it's a trucker thing...my oldest brother has it that way on his pickup, like said above, you just need to run a ground wire

They are ok, but as others have said, they have grounding issues. It's more of a cosmetic thing nowadays. I had my Firestik 2ft antennas mounted on the mirrors and received some CB traffic but not very far. The extension bars are actually metal, but probably aluminum or something. Plus, running a wire through your door sucks - it messes up the paint from opening and closing. I honestly won't mount them there again...I would say put them on the bed rail or mount them to a toolbox.
