Default axle gears

Let me start off with my truck so yall kno eat I'm working on. Its a 94 f250 4x4 7.3l idi non turbo its has a solid Dana 44 hi pinion in the front which came out of a. 77 f250 and a steerlung 10.25 rear axle its got a 12inch lift wit 39 inch tires that I run every day. The problem I have it that the front axle hade a gear ratio of 3:55 and the rear has 4:10 I wasGlna order the 4:10s for the front but I was thinking bout down the road putting a lower gear in the truck so spending the money on the front just to end up changing it again would b wastful. I'm Leaning towards 4:88 gears but I'm not sure if that's gona b to low. I wand to bring it back to the stock powerband. Which gears would do that.

I was told those gears r for 35inch tires. My friends has 4:56 gears on his 97 gas f350 running 38 inch tires and it's a dog.

you also have quite a bit more power then he does too though, but you may need the 4.88... and you really don't need to change the gears that much just for 35's i have 34's and do just fine with the stock gears (3.73)

i am running 4.10s with 35s and i find them too low, on the highway it is turning too much rpm, i think with a good tuned up diesel you are far better off with higher gears than lower.

and you can't really compare gasser gearing to diesel they run in totally different rpm ranges.

MUCH more torque also, i use to have a 06 6.0 with a 4" and 37's stuffed in there and it ran great, did about a 14.7 in the quarter...... when it would run

i would shy away from the 4.88 if it were me, i think the 4.10's would be good enough

oh copy i thought you only had the 3.73s, maybe try the 4.56? i wouldn't try much lower if you wanna keep it driveable on the highway
