7.3s are very reliable and awesome engines --- they were available until '03
the only thing is though if it has alot of miles u afta realy be careful not to wreck the tranny... and after a longer while the injectors sometimes wear down

but if ur looking for the [awesome] Ford alternative ,,, --- it'll give the suburban a run for the money...
