Default DPF Regen. ?/Intake?

I have and '08 6.4 and I read about people knowing how many regen. cycles their trucks go through. Im no mechanic, how am can I tell when this takes place, or can I? Im getting about 13-14mpg mixed hwy and town driving. Im thinking about buying an after market intake, do you think this will help me in fuel mileage and turbo lag? If so, what brand do you recommend. I really like the truck but the mpg sucks!!!

Deleting the DPF will make a big difference in fuel mileage on the 6.4 Powerstroke. You will also see a big improvement in power.

Give me a call if I can help

get an AFE stage II, i have it on my 6.4 and love it, i also deleted the dpf and put an SCT on it, love it so far, LOTS of power and better MPG, as far as telling when its in regen. it will tell you on the dash, it should anyways? and also your exhaust sounds like a 747 ready for take off LOL

Lange503 did you have the intake before you did the delete? Did you see any differences if you did.

i did actually, it was the very first thing i bought for it, MPG increase a little, and throttle response was better, a little more power throughout the entire rpm range too the turbo sounds awesome too, you can hear it real well through that stage II AFE

Do you have a 6.4? Your sig only says 7.3?

A DPF delete and proper tuning will yield far better mileage than a stock 6.4 will net!

I think im gonna go with the AFE Stage II, but im undecided on the sealed model or not. Does anone have any opinions on this? I am also looking at the SCT and Spartan tuners. I know many people have both, any feed back would really be helpful since they all claim to be the best out there.
