2004 ford powerstroke 6.0 p2262
hello to all my 6.0 powerstroke has no power unless you hold throttle to 3000 rpms for a min then all of a sudden it will run great any ideas thanks in advance already cleaned egr valve replaced map sensor and hose and cleaned turbo
Have you checked the vanes in the turbo for free movement? What's the ICP showing?
That exhaust leak will hurt you but would present it's self in low boost, low power all accross the power band!

You need a scan tool capable of displaying/logging live PCM data to view the ICP pressure. Does the MAP sensor work properly?
Are all the charge air cooler tubes and charge air cooler itself all ok?
Has the VGT been learned properly if the truck has the Inferred EBP calibration?
Could also be an EGR issue. Need VIN or build date of your truck to help any further.

when you crink it the truck has low power and pops through exhaust will barely build 3000rpms and will smoke like crazy then all of a sudden after a min it will go to what it seems like is runnin good but it has a hissy sound but if you kill it back to same stuff.and sometimes it wont open up at all ive noticed turning key on and off several times makes it open up quicker but idle fine and you get exhaust smell in cab but i think thats the y pipe leaking

You need to take the truck to a different shop. An 'educated guess' on a Powerstroke driveability concern can cost you upwards of $500 an attempt.
You need to find a good Powerstroke technician. You may have to lay out a little more money initially - but in the long run it will pay off.
Have tools, will travel
