Aaron, you're the first post I've read (and I've search a lot of posts) where the problem that you describe is almost identical to mine. I was wondering if you ever got the problem resolved. Mine has been acting up maybe once every week or two. No CEL, and if the RPMs go over about 2000 it just takes off and has full power until RPMs drop below 2000 and then it goes back to sputtering and smoking.
