Hey guys, I wanted to get your opinions on the NewHolland engine they use in the older F800 Ford trucks. It is a 7.8 straight 6 turbo diesel. Some say it is the million mile engine but I don't know squat about it. Im looking at a 1990 F800 box truck that was converted into a pick-up. What do you guys think?

 

I ran a F800 boom truck for a few months that had the 7.8, I thought it was a decent engine. As far as power I'd say it was comparable to a DT466 but I didn't have it that long so I'm not sure as far as reliability. The company sent it back to PA and gave me a truck with a POS CAT 3208
