Exclamation BD Or BTS Tranny

ok with the tax return i will have enough $$ to order a new tranny, but i'm torn between BD and BTS, i know BTS has outstanding customer service, but i talked to both of them on the phone and they seem to have the same internal modifications, and the BD converter SOUNDS like a more heavy duty converter, so i need some opinions here, theres not much price difference so it comes down to which is really better. ANY SUGGESTIONS

I for one will be going with a BTS -- mainly b/c all I've ever heard about them is positive and they specialize in Ford transmissions and secondly b/c they are 5 hours from my house. A guy I know drove from FL to AR to get his BTS installed, and couldn't be happier!

I am not sure about the warranty on the BD tranny, but Brian stands behind his even after 2 yrs even if you race the truck. I got mine done there in Lead Hill in Feb and I love the way my tranny shifts. Cale burned me a program on my chip and made it even better. Just my .02

I'd say go with John Woods down in Holtville California. I talked with him about 3 weeks ago and his Stage I tranny buildup (good for up to 550+HP he stated) costs $3,900 plus tax and shipping. Great rep. Great warranty. Great guy overall.

He stated that you can save a large amount of money if you have the tranny shipped to a local Fed Ex hub and you pick it up at the terminal and drop the core back off there as well. Shipping otherwise would run around $450 to $500 depending upon where you are located.

Hope that helps.

I just got my baby back from ATO here in Sacramento and she's running like a totally different rig (for the better). It's amazing what a great tuner (Jody) and a solid tranny will do for a 7.3 PSD.

Around here you don’t see a built ford without a BTS trans. But im about an hour and a half from lead hill.
