Did you look at your exhaust impeller?
I would personally do a boost leak test first. Make sure everything is in check with the motor.
You can rebuild your turbo for fairly cheap.
The d66 or sd66: whichever one is drop in works really well.
The thruster is basically a thrust bearing 38r and is a good turbo.
Just make sure to do your homework and shop around.
Do not buy from Pensacola diesel. There are better prices out there from much better places.
Best of luck

Yeah the place where i was said they replaced it with a new one. they said the bad one has 2 bent fins. Weather they actually did replace it has me curious because the truck still sounds like total crap anywhere above 1000 rpms. I have a 2nd inspection for it lined up for friday. The guy where I'm taking it also has a turbo off another 01 6 speed with 76K on it. My truck currently has 73k. So I might just buy the used one off him and thow the WW and wastegate on that and see what happens. Thanks!

No, I just did it. I'm aware of it not being a "performance part". I did it because it sounds neat and for down the road if i ever decide to add some more power.

So heres the update guys. 2nd place I took it adjusted the wastegate and it has its power back. Also has a good sounding bark when shifting. But the flutter/choppy wine is still there. Is there any way the bit may of damaged the Inner bearing of the turbo? and this could be causing the odd sound??
