where would you look if you have a boost leak? i had to replace my stock wheel it was warped bad got the ww for free here cant beat it

But would this cause the turbo to make such a strange sound? and loss of power?

The EBPV being unhooked would... As would the wastegate rod being unhooked...

You have a issue with boost, not a little piece of drill bit.

I didnt mess with the bypass valve. Unless i accidentally knocked something off while working in the hood. The turbo sounds like complete crap when spooling. Would a leak really make it sound this way?

did you check all of the lines running from the turbo sometimes they come lose when you work on your turbo it happened to me before worst comes to worse pull the turbo it wouldn't hurt to double check it

Yeah i tried. couldnt find anything out of the ordinary. it's going to get looked at Wednesday next week.

The turbine side was indeed damaged. 2 bent fins. Had the place where I take it order parts and put it back together,then they sent it out to get balanced. but Still have this terrible fluttering sound comming form the turbo. Im lost.....where do I go from here?? Would the EGT probe in the manifold cause it to sound different?? Might just look for a new turbo. Is there anywhere to buy a brand new stock turbo? Or could I run a BD thruster with stock injectors? thanks everybody.

look at some of the dealers on diesel bombers i know a few good dealers that sell turbos for a decent price kt performance or alligator performance theres alot of good dealers on here i only know a few but take some time and check them out

Yeah I think thats what I'm gonna do. May as well look at this mishap as a chance to upgrade. Was thinking about the BD thurbo thruster II. Not a bad pricetag and it says there a bolt on.

yeah before you buy make sure you check all of your options i may be wrong but i think you can run a upgraded turbo with out bigger injectors for a while may be wrong on that
