Default at what temp will motor parts fail?

i pulled off my buddys turbo to put in a wicked wheel and i found that his turbo was warped badly it was slowly eating away at the outer part of the turbo, how hot it would be to cause this to happen ? he did a lot of hauling nc is very hilly im just wondering if that could have caused it. im going to install gauges in his truck to prevent damage to his truck whats the max temp he should let it go to ?

1250 is pay attention time. You shouldn't hold it over that for too long...
