Yep that ones towards the top of the list, but the C model 3406 that Im working on right now has me thinkin... Fun part is all my shop contacts allow me to get used ones for peanuts

if your going all custom why not do a S363/68/.91T4 over a S475/88/1.32T6 you can buy that pair of turbos new for less then $1700

Both would need to be bigger. An S363 is tiny, we arnt talking about a cummins here

If you were going to pursue a semi turbo idea, I would shy away from the Cats unless it was from a C7 or 3306, a Cummins ISM wouldn't be too bad. N14, red top, or 3400 series Cat turbo would take high RPM's and time to get it going.

Thats whats scaring me on that notion. Im afraid Id waste a week of nights plumbing up some crazy concoction and find out it takes 2 minutes to get it to spool. c7's and 3306's run tiny turbo's tho, you sure those would flow enough???

The C7 rated for a Class 7 truck is bigger, but not too big. Same goes for the 3306 (generator/industrial) turbo. There's usually 2-4 turbo options for most of those engines, and will depend on the application it's used for.

You really need to talk to someone about turbos who knows them. They are not something to just guess

joebob is right. Instead of spending months or years trying to find out what will work well and what will not, and blowing your own money, talk to those who have already done the trial/error stage. Swamps and Empire have both done an extreme amount of tests, and I'm sure others have too. Give one a shout and see what they say.
