anyone else heard of this lifetime oil filter?
There are some guys trying these out on their diesel trucks from one of our major diesel warehouses. The theory behind these are that you can extend your oil changes and they do a much better job at filtering. A few guys could not believe what the filter took out of their engines.

well if you read the instructions on these you are supposed to clean the filter every 3k miles. Seems like a lot of work. And a lot of oil needing to be added. I think people are amazed because they can actually see the stuff in the filter rather than in a regular filter encased in metal
exactly plus adding oil every 3k gets expensive.
on top of that really expensive filter
the pure power filter seams like a better deal but still pricey
what i am interested in is there lifetime fuel filter, $$$

I use the amsoil in mine (Series 3000 SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel Oil) with the 25000 mile filter (EAO99) and change my oil at about the 12000 mile mark. It seams to do the trick and with 296243 miles on my truck it has never had any problems associated with or caused by the oil.

I can think of better things to do
