hey there,on trhis 02 7.3l im also confussed about,i removed a command start,which i have done many many times with no troubles,well this time i get done and it wont start or fire or any thing i had neetly tied excess wire up under dash with zip ties so then i go to start truck and nothing,so i cut the zip tiies pull the wireing down and it starts and runs tie the wires up go tu take for a test drive,dies a hundred yards from shop,right away i think its something with the security so back in shop,buggering around to find out this thing runs out of fuel with a quarter tank thanks to reading someones thread that theirs did that so put fuel in and realised then,no power to lift pump,to second post on glow plug relay and to the cps not sure if it should have power or not./ any ideas cant seem to get lucky here and im lookn like a dick cause i told buddy i done lots of command start removels never a problem well he wants his truck running,LOL goood thing he.s patient need help

thanks did that about a hunred times relays as well,nothing

Guess I'll be known as Doc shorted/frayed wire John, as that sounds like your problem.

Could be a wire is almost broken or frayed enough to not allow enough energy through the weakened connection and energize the system/components.

Broken/frayed harness wires are common with the 7.3s...I found 2 almost frayed through, one broken, and two nearly broken wires in my 2001 7.3...and I have only about 101k miles...so it has been stirred, not shaken!
