Default fuel aeriation

When my tank gets down to 1/4 of a tank i get this loud injector noise and it goes away as soon as I fill the tank. And yes it is actually at a quarter of a tank because it only takes 19 - 20 gallons to fill it. I have seen this on several high mileage 7.3L trucks but mine started it at about 90,000 miles. It is getting worse. I am sure it is at the sending unit in the tank. I was just wondering if anyone else has fixed this yet???? Thanks

You can do the intank mods... a 5/8" pick up or a sump...

More then likely your pickup is getting plugged and the pump is struggling to pull fuel.

Got a fuel pressure gauge?

Pretty sure a weak pump is weak for the whole tank not just the bottom 1/4. Figured the sending unit is plugging somewhere... just wondering who else has seen this and what they did. Thanks for the response though

well ussaly most of the heavy junk ie dirt gunk ect stays at the bottom so what might be happening is its sucking in all the junk at the bottom when it gets low try droping the tank n cleaning it out or try running fuel injector cleaner i have over 250,000 miles on my truck never had a problem with that before hope you figure it out hope this helps a bit
