Default oil pan

well yall its gotten to where im doing alot more driving than i used to (avg 1500 per week) and i am getting sick of changing my oil all the time (full synthetic is expensive) so i was wondering if there is anyone out there that makes a larger oil pan than stock.

basic idea being more oil=more cool and more oil last longer

i realize that increasing the pan size increases the cost when i do drain it but it will allow me to feel like im doing better since im not changing my oil all the damn time

thanks

jeremy

Put an oil cooler on it extra couple quarts help keep it cool and u could do a bypass filtration kit as well runninsomthin like that ud b able too make amsoil last 15k... providing u keep sampling it and sendin it in to check on it...

The T444E has a pan that is two quarts larger but I don't think it would fit in a SD chassis. How often are you changing your oil now? Your in Texas...do you really need a synthetic in the first place? Sounds like doing a few UOAs will help you determine a proper OCI for you.

right now i am changing my oil twice a month (i change every 3000-3500 because of the SD fuel system and because it runs cooler during the summer months when its 100+ for over a month)

i think im gunna do what CMCA recommended and put a second cooler on the truck and run bypass filtration (with a heavy winch bumper on the truck i think there isnt enough air goin through the grill and a 2nd cooler would help that and prolong oil life) right now (temps in the 60s during the day) my oil temp is pushing 200 after and hr on the freeway

Well unless something is very wrong, your changing your oil a bit too often to being with. Ford claims you can go 5000 miles on CG or CF4 motor oil. Two completely dead oil standards. International (who designed your fuel system) recommended the T444e could go 8000-10,000 between changes. So before I would start throwing parts at anything I would do a UOA to see how the oil is doing, 200* ain't that hot for motor oil IMHO.

use good oil, test it, and you otta be going over 10k oil intervals. don't yell at me anyone for saying that, i know some people think thats crazy... i got 2 trucks that i run highway miles 99 percent of the time, the lightest cgvw rating is 17,000 lbs empty, do oil samples every change and have tried a few different oils. i average 3,000 miles a week on my truck and around 1000 miles on my part time truck a week. wouldlt have time to change oil every 3,000 miles!

see ive heard oil should be running 190* during summer and im seeing 200* when its 60 out so thats what had me worried. im gunna do an analysis on my oil when i get to 4k and see what they have to say about it and then go from there. i plan on putting a bypass filter on it regardless just to play it safe.

well what is the coolant temp at? seeings how the oil cooler uses coolant to cool the oil. the oil temp is directly related to the coolant temp.

Depends on what you are running for a thermostat, how old your coolant and oil are etc etc. I would see around 200*F in mine...no issues yet.
