Also make sure it stays on for something like 2 minutes or something. The one on my truck would work for about 20 seconds then go out, and when you tested it it appeared good because it was still working, just not holding power very long.

Just set it to 12v and put the black prong on the negative side of the battery and then with key off, find the big stud with constant power, other big stud should have 0. Should be same as battery voltage. Then turn the key on and touch the red prong to the stud that had 0. Should now have as much as the stud that had constant power. If it is less than the constant side, how much? (This is something you can't determine with a test light) If you are losing more than a volt or so between the constant side and the glowplug side, that is not a good thing...

And yes, I didn't mean to say bug, that was my awesome smart phone...

Lol, no problem I did test with a test light just so see if getting power and gpr is, now just need to get a multimeter and see what my volts are.

Welcome to guzzle's Stancor GPR replacement Mod Web Page
^^^ I just installed one of those myself. I highly recommend it! My unplugged truck started beautifully at 11*F and 6*F the past two days with no issues at all. Before the GPs were getting 3 volts and the truck wouldn't start under 30*f.

You also need to check if the PCM is sending the 12V to tell the GPR to switch on the circuit. It is the small red wire (usually), the orange is the ground switch. That is why it is important to do this when it is below 45 F. Guzzle's page has more info on this.

Well I tested my gpr and the constant side was measuring 12.6 and the other measured 11.4, and I got my batteries tested and they were testing 1200 cca

You say you're checking your starting system, are you trying to find the starter solenoid? The GPR looks like a typical starter solenoid but they are different. The starter solenoid is actually down on the starter. I'm just confused about your mention of "starting system"
