Default Water Pump Leaking?

Just realized this puddle under the truck late yestersay evening. It is definitely coolant fluid and is dripping off the main crankshaft pulley area, just below the oil pan. After further invetigation, looks like a small stream coming from just below the shaft, which this pulley is attached to, and I think operates the water pump. Could this be a seal in the front of the pump? BTW, I just started using my block heater recently, but the leak does not seem to be in that area. Any advice or info leads would be appreciated. Guess I will not be driving it for a while like this

it's probably coming from the weep hole on the watter pump. when that starts leaking you need to replace the pump pretty dam soon. the first seal went out and the bearings are being exposed to water.

Understand that the fan is the worst component that you have the deal with. Any good quick advice here? I will be working in this for the next couple of days. Guess I need to cancel my schedule for this week. Drat! What about purchasing a new one? Any good links you have for removing or replacing?

well they sell a fan clutch tool. but kinda pricey. here's how a did mine. drain radiator. then remove. there are 5 8 mil bolts on top then the whole thing lifts out. then i pulled the whole fan, clutch, and pump as one unit. then i used a oil filter wrench on the impeller on the back of the pump then a big cresent for the fan clutch nut. FAN CLUTCH IS RIGHT HAND THREADS. break it loose then spin the fan off and put on new pump. ypu don't need to get it super tight on the new pump since it will tighten itself. then drop in as one unit. i used a smal amount of black RTV silicone around the edges. make suar the block is clean. i used a scotch brite pad on a die ginder. then brake clean to get rid of any oil. don't ever tighten the bolts. they break and stretch easily.

On it now. Thanks for the headsup. Seems like a reasonable solution. Looks like the radiator should lift out OK, but I will need to remove the transmission lines first. Then the shrowd, and then I can work on the pump with the fan attached.
