Default Fuel pressure ???

I have my an electric sending unit tapped into the oem fuel filter housing. And I was wondering what my fuel pressure should be. My truck runs ok other than if I get on it hard it feel like it should have more. Cruising around town my gauge will say 50-57 psi. But if I stomp on it or going down highway it will go down to 35-45 psi. Is that normal or is my pump crapping out? Btw I have an air dog 100 feeding my primary pump. Long story sorry but I'm getting ready to put the adrenalin hpop on and I want to make sure I have a good fuel supply. Thanks everyone

i could be wrong but think you should be around 60- 75 psi at any RPM. 35- 40 is way low. how does the FPR look? or do you not have the stock bowl?

35-40psi is a bit low, nothing to get excited about. However the fact that you have an airdog pushing it concerns me.

I would check the pick up tube on the stock set up, and check the restriction on the pumps.

Sorry but what is FPR? And that's what I thought. I do have my stock fuel bowl. So should I be looking at getting a new fuel pump and if so do you recommend one?

Sorry didn't see the rest of your comment csipsd. I'll drop my tank and check pick up. It's a stock pick up, should I think about getting the draw straw or a pick up set up?

fuel pressure regulator. i know on the OBS you can shim the FPR to bump up the fuel pressure but i don't think you can on the SD's. where is your pressure sender located on the fuel bowl?

You can shim the FPR on the superdutys as well...

Might check out RiffRaff, he has some inexpensive kits to shim or add a rear feed set up...

is it the same thing as shimming the OBS with the BB? and how do you check fuel pressure on the SD's? also, what's a rear feed setup?
