Default new fuel filter now leak?

so i put in a new fuel filter about a month ago, and since after i have noticed that my mileage has went down ALOT, and sometimes i can smell a little diesel smell when i walk by the truck. i have looked at it and noticed that i kinda have a shine around the fuel bowl and the yellow drain valve, also this was the first time i drained the fuel bowl. and the yellow handle has a little bit of play in it that i dont really remember being there before. but i dont SEE any diesel.

Look in the valley of the engine, mine came from the drain valve, have you drained your water drain valve lately( yellow handle) and I'd take my fuel filter cap of and check to make sure the o ring seal is on properly maybe even replace it to and put it back on

The little yellow valves tend to break and if you have never used it before then the seal might be shot. you can get a new one they are about 12 bux

make sure when you take the filter cap off that you lube the o ring so as it does not bind up while tightening.
