new/reman 7.3 engine???

ok the oil cooler being on the passenger side is wrong. it is on the drivers side for ALL 94.5 to 03.5 powerstrokes. 94.5 to 97 the mechanical lift pump is located in the valley, but nothing a freeze plug cant be inserted into, along with swapping over fuel lines. the fuel bowl is different as well. you would need one from the old engine (99-03.5) as well as a front cover, the front cover from 99-03.5 has some different recessed and raised surfaces that do not exist on a 94.5-97 cover. your IDM and PCM are also different. your IDM for 94.5-97 is calibrated to run AA code injectors, 99-03.5 is calibrated for AD injectors. (it will still run but very crappy). along with that your valve cover wiring harness's will be different between the 94.5-97 to the 99-03.5, the older ones being a 2-plug style and the later ones being 1-plug on each harness. along with some sensors located in different places... minute crap.
And CTC is right, not only does the IH run at different rpm's and all that jazz, even thought the injectors look the same, the calibration for them is COMPLETELY different. it would be more trouble to convert everything to IH.

hey guys, thanks for the all the info been busy trucking the last 2 days after i post this! i will definately look into the reman from ford if they are offering a unlimited milage warranty but alot of companies have stipulations on commercial use, as i've found out! but there are ways around that too...

just tell them you have family that lives far away and you go see them.... very often they are a big enough company they can afford a new motor if it ***** the bed, which i think they should warranty it no matter what its used for as long as it had routine oil changes, etc...

as long as you change your fuel filters out frequently and get your oil change every 3k or so you wont have many problems, i had an 05 and ran it HARD and had very little issues, one egr, and one injector, that was it, i also changed the oil and fuel filter every 3k
