Fuel leak I think?

its right behind the plastic Powerstroke cover. its a big round plastic thing with a yellow handle coming out on the back side. cant miss it. and be sure if you havent allready and drain the water in the fuel before you go taring in to it.

I took it in to mechanic seeing as how I'm working 2 doubles this week, he said something like water actuator wastegaye or something on the fuel bowl. How do you drain the water from fuel.

Default Mystery fuel Leak

Got to work this morning and stopped in the parking lot. Smelled diesel through the vents, Got out huge puddle underneath the fly wheel cover. Constant drip when I shut it off.
Found fuel in the valley and thought it might be fuel pump but found a metal tube connected to rubber line with 2 hose clamps headed down tword the valley and back. After parying that it could be that simple, pulled the hose clamps and cut a bit off. Re- installed metal tube in rubber one and clamped. Drove it after work drip seems to have stopped. The only thing I think was the residual fuel left in the valley from taking the hose apart. Will see tomorrow if this fixes it. Will Let you all know.

I do not see where you actually stopped the leak Conner, You only put the drain line back together. My valve was leaking through the ball valve part. I removed my valve and put some liquid steel in the valve to stop it from leaking, I use a shop vac to suck out the fuel/debris when I change my filter. just could not bring myself to pay $80 for a $10 plastic valve that will probably leak again soon. Ford has a bad habit of over pricing parts that are not available aftermarket.

I replaced that valve on the boss' truck and got it from ford because we were in a hurry. after I got the old one off I realized that all you have to do is get new o-rings and replace them to stop the leak. O-rings are a lot cheaper than the overpriced valve.

But it's a lot easier & quicker to change the valve, than to take the valve a part to put in the O-rings

its right behind the plastic Powerstroke cover. its a big round plastic thing with a yellow handle coming out. the yellow handle moves too the left and will drain the water in the fuel. my guess is that you were not able to drain the water and it froze and cracked the chintz plastic valve. its really easy to replace and only has four bolts that take a little patients to get too. i would get the right part and fix it right. its not worth having your truck catch on fire over a 60$ part.

That's what is was is the valve, 110 bucks for diagnose repair parts and labor and tax at my mechanic great guy since I haven't had time to do it.thanks everyone!
