3.54 gears?

Default 3.54 gears?

i picked up a dana 60 front axle for a project and it has 3.73 gears, its out of a 02 f-350 swr, my rear axle has 3.54s so do any of these fords come with 3.54s?

Not that I know of.. Some OBS trucks had 3.55's

thats the same as a 3.54 and could work, i think i really want to run the 3.73s but i need to find a set for a dana 70 i just need to figure out what trucks came with d70s and 3.73s

what are you putting this in? the SD axles has a different bolt pattern then any other 8 lug pickup. the OBS either came with 3.54s or 4.10s pretty sure the SD only came with 3.73s or 4.10s. you could just buy a new ring and pinion, that would be easier then hunting for the right axle.

im putting knuckles and free float hubs on with a 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern and all the coil and 4 link mounts and then its going under my dodge which has the 70 rear axle

what is SD and OBS?

i have seen the new ring and pinions and im on a budget here and they are out of my price range, i found some used d70 rings on ebay that are out of a 69 f-250 and that would work for me so i was going to go cruise a few yards and see what i cant come up with

SD= super duty OBS= old body style.

thanks for that clarification

i wonder would the gears out of a dana 60 tbt (or whatever it is) IFS design axle be high pinion reverse cut? or did they even make a 60 that way or were they all 50s?
