I feel like the reason the 7.3's and cummins pull better especially low end is because of the huge difference in power band the 6.0 is a high revving motor with high rpm power band and the 7.3's and cummins are much lower rpm power bands dont take this to the bank its just my opinion

i own a 7.3 but have a 6.0 here in iraq, the 7.3 definitely has more low down torque. the 6.0 is definitely a screamer motor, loves high revs. everytime i get on her from a dead stop, she spins the tires right before the 1-2 shift

Try riding in one with a good tuner too. Bullydog is junk for a 6.0 and it WILL trash his trans before anything.

There going to be faster.

They also have 4 less head bolts, an EGR cooler, a vgt turbo that loves to stick...

He will have a puking truck soon.
Emissions sucks doesn't it? VGT doesn't stick if you drive it like you stole it though! I'm at 90k, never touched mine and it spools like it did factory. I can't argue the other points, but there are fixes for it all thankfully!

I had a edge Juice on my old 05 6.0 and my 2011 6.7 powerstroke out pulls it stock.
Edge Juice is another trans killer. You'd love a 5R110 with a good tuner on it. Something that can actually tune the trans like an SCT.

All you have to do is drive a 7.3 manual with a chip and then drive a 6.0 with a chip. Then try to tell me the 6.0 pulls better.
Gell one time and you have to put injectors in? What on earth are you talking about? The 7.3 and 6.0 injectors have a LOT in common and are almost identical. They both have a TON of moving parts and are HEUI operated. Why would you have to replace them if they gel? Please get your facts straight before posting erroneous information. I'd take a 6.0 any day of the week over a 7.3. The 6.0/5R110 is a great pulling combo. Not to knock the 7.3, because it's obviously a great platform. Some of you guys comparing chipped 7.3 to a tuned 6.0 are doing apples to oranges here. Using custom tunes on the 7.3 and generic junk box "programmers" on the 6.0 isn't exactly a fair comparison.

That is correct. How many 7.3's can spin up near and above 5krpms on stock valvetrain. I've seen it happen with 6.0's. Proper tuning helps immensely with the turbo spool on the 6.0 as well. That doesn't include Banks, Edge, Diablo or any of the other generic junk "programmers." (Programmers is in " " because they're not even a true programmer, they're more like "foolers".)

It would take a fair amount of work to a 7.3 to even get it to run close to a properly tuned 6.0. 420-430 rwhp is the normal for an SCT tuned 6.0. You guys would have to start worrying about rods flying through your blocks at that power level. There has been more than 1 6.0 to lay down over 1000 rwhp on stock bottom end...

If you want to tow all day every day then a 7.3 is probably the better choice just for simplicity reasons. If you're building a drag/play truck... I'll take the 6.0 despite it's downfalls. HP is just far easier to make on fewer hard parts in the 6.0.

I'd take a 6.4 over all of them...

I'd take a 6.4 too, right up until the fuel system needs repairs... I can buy a few 6.0 motors for what it costs to fix a 6.4.

Still the same crappy heads too, just a way better fuel system, better air system, better EGR system... same trans essentially... the 6.0 and 6.4 are very similar though.

Just got the wife a 04 6.0 excursion. This truck is bone stock and it seems like it has more power than my 7.3 stock. I know i should not compare it to my 7.3 with the banks fooler but the 6.0 runs like my 7.3 in stage 3. It’s a great truck and i hope i don’t run into too many problems with it. I also really like the new 6.7s, have only heard good things about them.
