Default 99 7.3 blowing white smoke

I have a 99 7.3 powerstroke with only 97000 miles on it and it started blowing white smoke and running rough it sounds like it could be an injector issue but how do you scan them or could it be something else I am new to the diesel world

What's the smoke smell like? You need to take it to someone who has a scan tool to have it scanned

I have a scan tool but it's not throwing a code and the smoke smells like fuel

U said it compression is down more then likely you have a valve problem I'd say on the exhaust side. Take valve cover off and look to see if all valves are moving the same and u might find out what it is when the cover comes off something might be laying on top of your head.

It doesn't matter how many miles are on the truck it's how it's taken care of. And if you just bought it 15yr old truck who knows. I have a 99 7.3 with 320,000 on her aside from the suspension best truck I have ever owned. Maintenance is the key to longevity.
