california powerstroke
Hey guy I just bought this 99 psd 7.3l it started out running fine and it would sometimes cut out ad have no power I would shut it off then turn it back on and it would be fine then one day it finally cut out and wouldn't restart. So after replacing the cps icp sensor found bad connector on the fuel pump that solved the starting issue but the check engine light was still on so I had a local shop diagnose it they said idm injector drive module and gpr glow plug relay the idm goes for anywhere from6 to 900 and I found the stancor relay talked about on the forum but to finally get to the question my truck Is california desiel and I read that thay have a gpcm glow plug control module can I use that stancor relay or do I have to get a different part because it a gpcm?

Reman will be fine on the IDM, its in the drivers side fender well, need to remove the fender liner to get to it.
GPCM no need to unhook the batterys, just have the keys in your pocket and go to town.
What codes are leading them or you to a bad IDM? Hate to see you throw one in when all you have is a bad wire harness or UVC...

I took it to a light duty specialists here in town and he said the harnes is fine, u need an idm and a glow plug relay and quoted me 1300 bucks if I can do it myself for 360 and some shipping that's not too bad. He didn't tell me the codes but I pulled them prior to it not running and they were 1 active p1280, p1316 and p1211 if I remember correctly
