That is a very informative thread. I think if your just looking for a little extra. Some stage 1 (160cc/stock nozzle) would do you right. Those and some tunes make for a fun truck.

it snowed about threee inches last night and it was 22 degrees. The truck fired right up this morning after being plugged in. I will have to check the glow plugs and relay alittle closer. at what point do I need wory about headgaskets or pmrs if I start to build more power.

I wouldn't worry about headgaskets. I would check the truck to see if it had forged or PMR's... Do a search on here, Actually one of the fresh threads we just discussed how to look to see what you got.

If you do have PMR's, its good for about 400-450ish with GOOD tuning.

400! I probably wont grow that tall, but I will look and see just for curiosety. I think I found the starting problem the gpr works, sometimes, I tried to start it about ten min ago, it has been pluged in still, and it would not start with the temps as cold as they are right now it took a half hour of F@%!*&G arounf but I found the gpr did not cross power over the contacts and then the next time I checked it it did and now it does not again. I will replace it and let you know if it works, Thabks for the help.

GPR-109 at Napa... Cheap and works...

Just tell them GPR109, not a glow plug relay for a powerstroke or they will sell you one for about 75, the GPR109 is 35 or so...

I just put in and while removeing the old one the stud for the constant power broke off. Napa did not have any in stock so I went to car quest and 74.00 later I have a new gpr I will let you know in the am if it starts or not.

I just installed the gpr, Napa did not have one in stock so 70.00 later car quest got me hooked up. I will let you know if the old girls starts in the morning or not.

Howdy, I appears the GPR has fixed the starting issue. There is still alot of white/gray smoke and a strong diesle fuel smell, but at least she starts. Thanks for your help and if anyone has any ideas about the smoke they would be appreaciated.

How long did you wait to crank? Make sure you dont just go by the WTS light on the dash, turn the key on and wait about 15-20 seconds when its cold out. Then crank and she should fire off without much issue.

Cold starts, you will get a bit of unburned fuel, but it should clear up rather quickly.

If you have smoke when sitting at idle you have issues...

I have a low compression motor, and large nozzles on my injectors... Once warm there is just a hint of exhaust here at 7000'. At home there is none. (3500')
