the true statement is anything over 8" is impractial. the higher your truck sits the lower your weight capasity is. (why do you think 2 wheel peel duallys sit so low) and have a higher load capasity than a standerd 4x4. bottom line is im not saying a truck with 8" of lift cant pull as much as a stock truck im saying it shouldnt.

I agree. I won't even put a leveling kit on my truck for that reason. I mean, leveled and slightly lifted trucks look GREAT, till they are actually used as a truck. The nose up, *** down look while towing a tiny trailer or something like a quad in the bed just screams "look at my gutless turd!" At least it does to me.

OK. Carry on.

Shocks have nothing to do with the load capacity...

Shocks will not keep the rear end from dropping...

What part of lifting a truck makes it carry less?

Is this less?

Would not have it any other way... Stock trucks suck for towing...

I believe your truck would be the exception, not the rule (looks good by the way). MOST suspension kits set the truck dead level when unloaded. When a load is then placed in the bed or on the hitch, the suspension drops and the truck goes nose-up.

Besides. I never said a lifted truck couldn't carry as much as a non-lifted truck could. What I should have said was, "I don't like the looks of a squatted truck carrying a minimal load that 90% of the lifted trucks I see are doing".

Not to mention, it's a good way to grab the attention of all the stinkin' PUCO officers and their mobile scales. Quickest way to get pulled over in a pick-up while pulling a trailer is to just LOOK heavy. At least here in Ohio.

ive got a 6" lift on my 250 and i can throw 2500lb of feed in the bed and squat the same amount as a stock light truck. my only thing when pulling behind a lifted truck is that the trailers seem less stable and i feel like im being pulled left or right a little more than i do in a stock truck. personally i wouldnt pull a goose neck behind my truck just because the trailer would sit at a bad angle but when it comes to bumper pulls ill hook up to anything and have it squat a little.
