Look I have a 6.0L straight piped with gutted cat I'm also a certified diesel mechanic and the only time you'll ever have a problem with your 6.0 is if you chip it when chipped you need to do the headers and change them to racing headers filled by an egr delete and a bypass correction on your oil system so it won't overheat and leak into the coolant there one more thing to do but it's not a major issue and doesn't really need to be messed with until it happens 6.0 is the way to go I outrun and out pull just about any 7.3 go 6.0

Our ranch has an 6.0 stock and its been nothing but hell, first 500 miles it wouldent start, then just engine trouble after trouble, weve blown the turbo 3 times and not even PULLING A LOAD. and it cant even pull the 30' trailer we have empty. I do like the 7.3L and I kinda wanna see how the new 6.7L are no Heui's system on their that I know about...

You need studs long before you need to worry about the factory exhaust manifolds.
Hell you need more then 270cc injectors before I would even think about touching the factory exhaust manifolds.

Before I get hate mail, to some people the 6.0L can be a great engine but I just cant say it is, I have not improved anything on it and will not either. Id just be going against what I believe if I say they can be, now I have seen some badass 6.0L but Im just saying personal experience If I had the money to try to improve this engine I would but I dont and I wanted to avoid the complications of making the 6.0L reliable so I opted for the Cummins and I quite like the cab of these trucks and all the control inside. But the Cummins has proved its self time and time again in this cold weather, and me and all my friends own a Cummins from 1st gen 12V to an 07 6.7L Cummins
