Yup... Anyone that would use a die grinder on a set of injectors is a very smart guy...

To the OP, Once you install new injectors it can take anywhere from 50-100 miles to get all the air out of the system. The truck will run weird, start hard and take longer to crank. Driving the hell out of it will not "unclog" anything, but will get the air out of the system quicker.

Always clear the codes when you do something new to the truck. Its quick, its easy and its easier to find out what is going on!

AE injector was added mid run in 2000. From that point on they came that way from the factory. There are a few out there that never got the recall done.

yeah i thought i cleared the codes the first time. i quess i didn t. oh well. thanks for the info though.

yeah mike seems like a pretty good guy from what i can tell. he has helped me bunch. i ll try the connector stuff. couldn t hurt

anyways tonight i did a compression check and everything was good. all injectors were firing and oiling. i think the number three had something in it and was sticking some. maybe it was just air. dunno. but it wasn t acting up as much today as it has been, and it didn t do the fluttering but once briefly and very lightly on the way home.

Injectors dont "get something in them"... I would be very of any injector builder who sends you a set of injectors and thinks it would be ok for them to be "sticking"

Mike... Stole most of what he knows from others who have come before him. He loves to trash talk other builders to prop up himself.

well i appreciate the input. mike built some injectors for another guy here in fire dept. he has been very pleased with them. this is the first time i ve messed with the internals on a diesel. it all has been a learning process. hopefully the injectors are fine.

well the injectors seem to be working fine so far. when checking the driver side uvch i found one of the connector to the #8 injector had a crack in it. so after replacing it and topping off the oil which was about a quart low it seems to be running a lot better
