Default HELP

Im new on here and I am needing some help. I recently bought an 03 F250 with the 7.3 and i was wanting to straight pipe it but I was told that a straight pipe would burn the turbos up because you dont have the compression from the muffler to stop the turbo when I kill the truck, then i was told there is no way it could burn the turbo up. Anyone have the right answer to this? Thanks

UHHHH, the turbo runs best if there was NO back pressure from the exhaust. The shorter, straighter, and larger in diameter the exhaust, the better. Back pressure will inhibit the turbo from spinning up as fast or as freely, you want speed and volume shooting thru the exhaust housing on the turbo to spool that thing right up and make it sing. So get a 4" down pipe, 4" exhaust and straight pipe it. Or be ghetto like mine with a 4" downpipe into about 8" of 5" pipe to a turndown weedburner. LOL, new exhaust in the spring is in order, but it will be a new SS 4" with dual outlets, no muffler.

Straight pipe is perfectly fine. No worries.

Get a 4inch turbo back exhaust and you will love it.
