99 F350 Boost question

I installed a boost gauge on my truck. I hooked it up between the map sensor hose and intercooler housing. The gauge only reads 2psi when the truck is running at 3000 rpm. Can someone tell me what the boost gauge should read and what I need to check for

3000rpm? Is that sitting still?

Team01 02-03-2011 10:03 PM

yes that is sitting still. At a idle the gauge reads 0

Drive it and report back.

I drove the truck to work this morning. the gauge would read 3 psi driving at 60 mpr. Also the gauge that I installed is a vacuum / boost gauge if that makes a difference. Please let me know.

That sound right for just cruising. What about at WOT?

Team01 02-04-2011 03:53 PM

What is wot?

wide open throttle

When I step on the throttle the gauge will go up to about 10 psi
