yeah keep it maintained. i had an 01 f250 4x4. it was my work truck. never got into the motor and it had 276000. it would still tear the tires loose from the pavement. used about a quart of oil every 5000 miles. had the trans built at 197000. now i m working with a 99 f350 that wasn t maintained very well

The guy next door had a 95 F-350 that he used/abused for a construction company that had 450K +. It was used very hard but very well maintained. He replaced a tranny, rear end, and transfer case but the engine was never apart.

Yea every 7.3 i have been around has been a good one never really heard of any short lived egines if taken care of, only other option for a long life engine is the 12 valve cummins either way they both are bullet proof in my book.
