ive owned both. had a 6.0 for 4 to 5 yrs and theres a reason i drive a 7.3 now...the 6.0 was a quick movin truck but it spent atleast 1 full month a year in service. now that was my 6.0 i know some guys that never have problems but personally i wanna take my 6.0 and drive it into a huge dumpster.

If you don't add a tuner to the 6.0 you won't be blowing your head gasket, also once you buy an aftermarket EGR, you're good to go with the 6.0, but the 7.3 will out last the 6.0 It's been proven countless of times

i havent had my 7.3 very long and still working out some of the bugs that the previous owners created. I can how ever say iv know severaly people that had and have 6.uhohs only one of them didnt have problems with headgaskets, egr and turbo.. but he sold it at like 43,000. my boss did buy one recently used with a warrenty and lost the headgaskets like a week after buying it, so the delership fixed it but he asked if they would put the ARP studs in it if he paid the differance so they did.

I would buy 7.3 first but wouldnt be afraid of a 6.0. My buddy is a Ford tech he said hes only seen 2 with head gasket problems. He said usually the coolant eats through the egr and then it is sent back into the intake and burned by the motor, making you think its burning coolant like you blew a hg. Not as reliable as the 7.3, but if I bought one I would save the extra cash for the bullet proof package as soon as I bought it just because.
