i was driving a buddies 7.3 and was pulling into the drive and stopped to talk to my brother then went to pull forward and theres nothing just revs up and no go. trans was working fine then just quit no slipping or nothing.

put some fluid in it and let it cool down and it started moving then quit and now its stuck in my driveway

anybody have these experiences?

 

sure the trans didnt leak the fluid u put in it right back out? it sound slike a fluid problem. if not the possibly the TC or vb is shot, just seems weirf it went out all of a sudden

 

Sounds like a transfer cause or torque converter.

 

ive seen the trans filter get clogged an cause that. it wont let enough fluid to flow through the filter an loose prime an thats when you would get it to slip. if it was me i would check the fuild level an see how clean the fluid is. if its dirty do a service an see how it does. thats the cheapest rout first.

 

2 things I can think of... The filter slipped out of the trans, or the fluid is way low. What's the level look like?
