I looked in the (haynes) manuel to see if i could find any other sensor and it just lists the oil temp which is located on the side but does not indicate that it has any association with the oil presure gauge, but it sends signals to the pcm for proper functioning of the fuel injector, did say to remove the pressure sensor and hook up a pressure gauge and fitting to the resivior and start the motor and read the pressure from that to isolate wether it is oil problem or gauge problems. let you know if I find anything else

the book also said that the resivior runs under the same amount of pressure that the engine runs, at idle is10 psi, and at 3300 rpm 40-70 psi, never took my truck that high of rpm maybe that why I think that mine is messed up possibly that I am not driving it right I never go over 2000 what do you think.

you must get good fuel mileage, but only time mine ever gets close to that is when its a WOT, but saturday afternoon my engine temp gauge spiked so i shut the truck off and popped the hood and then i watched all my anti-freeze drain into the motor

My 2000 7.3 tack shows that it 3300 is at red line I noticed that on saturday also approx. 45 minutes before I pulled off the freeway and what I think is the IDM killed my truck and left it stranded. I coach 6,7,8 yr old football and I was on my way to the playoffs with two of the players in the back. lost the game truck died shitty day. and yes I get great gas mileage 60miles and not a drop of fuel used ,but the suburban that towed me got 5 mpg that day.

Oil pressure sender on our trucks is more of an on-off switch... It does not really read pressure. If you replaced the sender, I would check some of the wires for broken wires or chaiffed wires. If not, put a manual gauge in there and check again.
