oil pressure
at idle the oil pressure gauge will drop, but once i tap the throttle it will go back to normal.... wtf? i'm hoping its just a stupid sending unit :argh:
|
bump?
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- just replaced the sending unit on top of the HPO res. and still nothin, what other sending units are there, anyone know? :argh: |
I looked in the (haynes) manuel to see if i could find any other sensor and it just lists the oil temp which is located on the side but does not indicate that it has any association with the oil presure gauge, but it sends signals to the pcm for proper functioning of the fuel injector, did say to remove the pressure sensor and hook up a pressure gauge and fitting to the resivior and start the motor and read the pressure from that to isolate wether it is oil problem or gauge problems. let you know if I find anything else
|
i didn't even think of hooking up a gauge to that, i'll see if i can't find one tomorrow morning, thanks :c:

you must get good fuel mileage, but only time mine ever gets close to that is when its a WOT, but saturday afternoon my engine temp gauge spiked so i shut the truck off and popped the hood and then i watched all my anti-freeze drain into the motor :argh: :ouch:

how often do you do oil changes?

every 3k sounds like both of us had a shitty day ha, also check the CPS too that can just kill your truck out of no where when it goes it

Oil pressure sender on our trucks is more of an on-off switch... It does not really read pressure. If you replaced the sender, I would check some of the wires for broken wires or chaiffed wires. If not, put a manual gauge in there and check again.
